I.                   Course Outline:

Year One:  Safety, Oxy-Acetelyne welding, Shielded Metal-Arc welding, blueprint reading, layout

 

Year Two:  Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc. Plasma Cutting, Pipe Welding

 

The Learner will:

1.      Identify and practice basic safety in welding. (3.1, 3.2, 3.3, .3.4, 4.7

2.      Be able to identify basic blue prints. (1.5, 1.10, 2.1, 2.5, 2.6

3.      Be able to layout plate and structural material to entry-level standards.(1.10, 2.1, 4.6)

4.      Cut and weld with oxy-acetylene welding equipment. (1.10, 2.5, 3.2, 3.4, 4.7)

5.      Weld with shielded metal arc welding equipment (1.10, 2.4, 2.5, 4.7)

 

6.      Weld with gas metal arc welding equipment. (1.10, 2.5, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4).          

 

7.      Weld with gas tungsten arc welding equipment. (1.10, 2.1, 2.5, 3.6, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4)

 

8.      Cut with plasma cutting equipment. (1.10, 2.5, 3.5, 4.1)

 

9.      Identify different types of material (1.10, 2.5, 4.7)

 

10.  Participate and understand SkillsUSA and its purpose. (2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.7, 4.2, 4.3, 4.3,  3.5, 4.6, 4.8
